Velo Verdae Apartments

The actual living experience here was great. Moving out was another issue. And unfortunately it really has soured my opinion of the complex. First, beware renting here if you have pets. The non-refundable pet fee will NOT be used for any damage or repairs required as a result of having pets. Apparently this is common to management companies. Common sense would lead one to expect that those fees are helpful for the property owners to offset those damages especially since they don’t charge a security deposit. But they WILL charge you for repairs upon move out anyway. It’s just a way for them to collect extra money off pet owners. I went into it knowing I wouldn’t get my money back. I was truly surprised that a $600 fee plus $40/mo pet rent wouldn’t be considered towards repairs. They do not negotiate at all. Just beware. Second, it was like pulling teeth to get details about what was expected for apartment turnover. Apparently they never sent me to formal letter with details and it took several emails back and forth with management to get any concrete information. Third, they pulled some kind of weird fast one with my lease renewal such that it ended on the 6th of the month instead of the 1st which meant I had to pay for 6 days of rent. So be VERY careful with your lease. There is no negotiation once that lease is signed. Maintenance was phenomenal and prompt. It’s quiet and beautifully landscaped. Parking can be a challenge sometimes and it’s not well-enforced. People park in handicap spaces all the time with no repercussion. On the upside, it’s highly unlikely you’ll ever be towed.

I love this complex. It has a welcoming atmosphere. You have access to the Swamp Rabbit Trail, and are in close proximity to downtown Greenville, Cleveland Park, Haywood Mall, Shoppes at Greenridge, eateries, etc. Lexi is AMAZING!! Although, I dropped in on a whim, she gave a through tour of the unit and the complex. She was very engaged during the tour and answered all of my questions and provided answers to some questions that I forgot to ask. I know if she puts this much attention into a potential resident, how much attention she gives to actual residents and how satisfied they must be with her. Lexi, I wish all leasing agents were as knowledgeable and helpful as you. -Anna
